Asia-Pacific Regional Center(APRC)

APRC

To share Taiwan’s environmental education experiences with Asia-Pacific countries and to focus on regional environmental issues, the Asia-Pacific Regional Center (APRC) was established in Taiwan in 2019 under the GEEP framework. Taiwan is responsible for promoting regional environmental education and establishing a communication network in the Asia-Pacific. The APRC is responsible for cooperating and exchanging knowledge with governments, industries, academia, and NGOs in the Asia-Pacific region. It also promotes environmental education in the Asia-Pacific region.

Since the end of 2020, the APRC has been organizing an advisory team composed of government officials, experts, scholars, and practitioners from Japan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Bhutan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Through regular advisory meetings, the APRC seeks advice and consultation on topics, including APRC operation, environmental issues, environmental education planning, and partnership establishment, to enhance and ensure the promotion and dissemination of environmental education.

The APRC will continue to organize environmental education training, youth exchange activities, international workshops, education resource integration, action plan development, and call for action in the Asia-Pacific region.
